Recap: Suzy’s Launch at SXSW 2018

Suzy® has officially launched in style, bringing her squad (the entire company!) along for the ride at the 2018 SXSW Interactive for two exciting launch events.

Why SXSW? South by Southwest (SXSW) in unique Austin, Texas has long been a nexus of boundary-pushing tech, art and culture. The two-week festival unites thousands of industry thinkers to exchange big ideas and share memorable dialogue. Relatedly, we built Suzy to give companies an unprecedented direct line of communication to their customers, on demand. We prize diverse opinions, ideas, and feedback and strongly believe that a continuous human insight can help companies do better.

First, on Saturday March 11th, we took over the eclectic Voodoo Doughnut on 6th Street and gave it a full-fledged Suzy makeover, complete with custom donuts and a mimosa bar (Suzy’s favorite indulgences). Scattered throughout the space were stations where attendees could sit down with a member of the Suzy team for 1–1 demonstrations of our consumer intelligence product. Many attendees took this time to test out launching a few questions of their own and watched the responses/insights roll in in real-time while they enjoyed their donuts and mimosas.

As day turned to night, we started ramping up for our much anticipated launch party at The Parish. By 10pm we were at capacity and the party was in full-swing. DJ Politik took the stage throughout the night with a few interruptions by opener rapper Kosha Dillz and our very own rapping CEO, Matt Britton, who got the crowd going with his original hit, “Go Ask Suzy.” Shortly after midnight, everyone’s favorite reggae rapper, Shaggy, took the stage and led the crowd in one big nostalgic singalong. The night concluded with a sweet touch when the bottle service staff transitioned the bottles of champagne to boxes of donuts from Voodoo (for those who didn’t quite get their fill the day prior at our demo event).

The launch party complemented the experience at our demo event, tying together Suzy’s innovative capabilities with the culmination of an exciting, successful launch.
